Man, this really struck a chord.

There are so many times I've dressed up decisions when deep down inside I've known they're self-protective and driven by feeling unworthy. My ego just couldn't handle listening to that. I'm only just realising how limiting that is, especially when you're someone like me who doesn't like to bulldoze through things with bravado.

I wish I'd learned this earlier. If we want education to be holistic and life-affirming, it's definitely something that should be part of a kid's experience.

Thanks Scott for this honest, reflective piece.

This was really nice to read, Scott. In trying to improve my own writing in any way possible, I've listened to lots of gurus say the key is sharing personal stories and being vulnerable in that. I think I've seen that modeled now through you and can say it definitely works. It's always nice to get to know you a little better each time I read your work as well. And, ouch, those were some expensive lessons for you but I suppose we all pay equally in our lives even if it isn't financially.

Thank you for sharing, Scott. Your vulnerability and willingness to share and teach others brings sunlight to the experience, and helps all of us heal from the errors we've made.

It’s wild how our scripts about how work is supposed to be done historically always involved abandoning creative work or undermining it. Seems like we are just starting to dig out.

Life does gets better -- and simpler! I have a feeling that are souls are laughing their butts off with all the complex puzzles we create for ourselves but if we're here...why not?
